[INTERNET] IMAP folder names

Trying to get 100% sync amongst two laptop, tablet and Android phone. Noticed that 'Sent Items' folder was not syncing. There may be others. I have 5 Cogeco addresses, several Gmail accounts and the Outlook.com account. Using Windows Live Mail on Win7 laptop, Blackberry Playbook and Moto E phone with Android v6.0. Cogeco Webmail and Outlook.com call the folder 'Sent Items'. BUt Gmail on laptop calls it 'Sent Mail' and the Android Gmail calls it just 'Sent'. Other folders are of course different too. Deleted Items/Trash'; Junk Mail/Spam. Inbox and Drafts are only common names it seems. I tried changing the folder 'Sent Items' to 'Sent' on Cogeco Webmail and redownloaded folders to WLM. Then, emails sent from Android phone synced. Is that how I have to do this? In other words change all the folder names to the ones Google has chosen for Android? (I don't think those can be edited). Or is there another way to make this work? Anyone with an Android phone and ISP with different folder names must have this problem and I can't believe everyone has to do this??? ADDED: Found another work-around. Added a "Sent" folder to WLM in each email account. Now mail sent from phone is stored there and other sent mail goes in "Sent Items" folder. Another strange thing. Cogeco in Webmail have a "Deleted Items" folder as well as another that says Delete (Trash). The latter one appears to be the default when something is deleted. In WLM under properties-Imap I changed the folder for Deleted Items to Trash. Now all trash/deleted items goes there. Seems like quite a run around ??

[TV] TiVo Acting Funny With YouTube and Netflix

I switched to the Cogeco TiVo setup over a year ago, and it's worked pretty well. Overall, I'm quite happy with it. One thing that's plagued me from the start though - and I'm just getting around to posting this now - is the performance of the Youtube and Netflix "apps" on the box. When I'm watching YouTube videos, they are usually choppy beyond belief for the first 8-10 seconds. After that they pick up speed and work fine but here's an example. I'll click on a video and it'll play an ad. In the bottom it'll say "you can skip this ad in 5 seconds" but it counts down from 5 seconds really slowly while the video stutters. It's also really slow to navigate the app as there's a slight delay between hitting a button on the remote and seeing the action performed on the TV. Regarding Netflix, I could be wrong but the quality of stream compared to what I get on my Apple TV is pretty poor. And lately, when I fire up Netflix it's not uncommon to stare at the Netflix logo for two minutes. Just wondering if maybe there's something in my setup causing this or if the sluggish, choppy video intros are a part of life with the TiVo system?

Cogeco has started throttling my torrent upload

How do I know? I tested on a public torrent with thousands of leechers, and I was lucky to get over 500KB/s for more than a minute, with the avg being 100 - 200KB/s. I also have bell cheapest package (cause I have bell tv) and their 1mb upload was instantly capped and stayed there for this same torrent on the same computer with the same settings. So it's quite obvious Cogeco has done something to me after years of being with them and having no issue like this. Speedtest is completely fine showing the full 20Mbps. Is there anything I can do about this?

[INTERNET] Upgrading from DS2.0 to 3.0

One of the connections I manage (Cogeco Business) is using an old RCA modem (DOCSIS 2.0).. If I brought it to a Cogeco location, would I be able to swap it for a Cisco DPC3008 (or any other DS3.0 modem) and bring it back to hook it back up? Download is ok, but upload is suffering greatly for what we need it for..

[INTERNET] How to automatically forward a email.

My wife receives a regular email that I would like to see. She can manually forward it to me, but she seldom even opens them, nevermind forward them! In old days with POP3, we could set up message rules in our email client and it would do the forwarding once the email was downloaded. But with IMAP, that does not work. I tried setting a message rule in Webmail, but that too did not work. Anyone know of a way to do this?

Apparently Amazon prime instant video will be launching in Canada soon. If and when this happens will COGECO enable the Amazon Prime instant video app on the TIVO boxes like all TIVO units have in the US? http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/amazon-prime-video-canada-1.3874326

[TV] Pace RNG200N

Anyone with a Pace RNG200N experience have problems with the unit re-booting itself? The unit I have will re-boot itself randomly, might be a couple of times a week, other times it might go a week without it happening. This all started about a month ago, never had any problems before that. I did call tech support about 10 days ago on this issue, nothing got resolved tho. It has re-booted several times since then. Last night, it happened again, but this time, it did 3 re-boots before I finally got to watch TV again. The TV is a LG 42LH30 and connects thru the HDMI interface.

Hi Looking for assistance to find the TIVO tutorials the install rep briefly showed. I went to help. Not there. Went to On Demand and TIVO suggestions. No can find. If someone can just tell me how to find them please? My parents just got TIVO - he excellent rep who installed it showed them the tutorials and talked my parents through the setup and navigation but try as I might ... I can't find where the darn tutorials were now. There were like 5 or 6 short instructional videos it looked like.

[TV] Cable TV Price increase?

Won't lie, I may well have received snail mail from Cogeco and have just forgotten about it. However noticed on our latest bill that our price for TV has increased. We're on MyMix10 and it's gone up by $3/mo. That's a pretty big hike, how long is this going to go on?

[INTERNET] smpt problems while roaming

I am having trouble sending from my Cogeco email accounts while roaming in USA. My android phone is set up with imap and smtp (smtp.cogeco.ca port 465. When I send a email, it goes into the Outbox, is queued and just sits there for hours. If I connect to WIFI, then the email goes out. I have a few gmail accounts, and when I send from those, the email seems to goes out without much delay. I recall in past before imap came in, that Cogeco smtp did not work at all when out of service area and it was suggested we use the google smtp server. Would that be a way to get the phone email to work with Cogeco?

Expansion in Belle River?

We're about 900m from the nearest neighbourhood that is serviced by Cogeco. The street is River Downs Ave in Belle River. I've had two appointments booked and cancelled just days before because the service was not ready. Does anyone know if this expansion will happen and/or when? I'm not even sure if the necessary lines are in the ground. Bell is here. Thanks!

New 1Gbps and 360Mbps expanding??

I just got off the phone with Cogeco inquiring about the new 1Gbps and 360Mbps packages expanding to Windsor (It is just in Burlington and Oakville for now) and the agent told me it will come to Windsor in a couple of months.. should I take this with a grain of salt, or is it really coming so soon? Other questions about this service.. What transport type will this be using? GPON, DOCSIS3.1 or something else? Can you get a "loyalty" discount on these plans? (A contract.. for lower rates) What modem is used with these plans?

[TV] Problems since upgrade to new guide

I can't tell whether this is a coincidence, but I've noticed a number of unfortunate changes since the new guide was downloaded. 1) As mentioned by others, I am experiencing intermittent issues where there is significant lag after sending a signal from my remote. The box won't respond to another command for a very long time (20 seconds or more). 2) Several of the recently recorded programs seem to have pauses/audio dropout issues. I haven't checked to see if they are all on the same channel (or adjacent channels). I've noticed the problem on Showcase HD, CBS HD (West Coast) and possibly other channels. I'll try to document the channels where it's occurring. 3) The Guide doesn't appear to show as many days' worth of available air times. Shows that previously displayed multiple pages of available play times now show only a single screen. Again, I don't have a specific example, so it may be a fluke. 4) As reported by someone else, I do also see "To Be Announced" on some screens, even when the Guide shows the proper program name.

Cogeco Phone Question

Could you get the basic business phone service, have a number provisioned but not assigned to a MTA at a physical location and then forward that local # to a toll free number forever. Also a) since it is a call forward to a toll free do you need long distance on the line b) how many incoming calls could it accept and forward at the same time. Say 10 people called the number would it forward all 10 to the toll free number.

[INTERNET] Cogeco ipv6 works perfectly, except...

As a new Cogeco customer I was pleasantly surprised to see that Cogeco ipv6 works very very well -- with no hassles, I was able to get a native ipv6 address and assign LAN addresses via DHCPv6 IA-PD. test-ipv6.com gives my connection a score of 10/10: IPv4: Good, AS7992 - COGECOWAVE - Cogeco Cable,CAIPv6: Good, AS7992 - COGECOWAVE - Cogeco Cable,CA Except for one issue -- the authoritative DNS servers for Cogeco do not respond to requests for PTR records for ipv6 addresses, and worse they don't fail-fast but force the client to time out: dig -x 2001:1970:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx...;; Got answer:;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: SERVFAIL, id: 25192... While this is not normally a problem, it causes delays in some cases where the remote server is doing a reverse DNS lookup, which becomes very slow because the PTR lookup. On one remote server I manage, for example, it takes about 15s to login via sshd or imapd, and this is in the logs of the nameserver: Mar 22 17:02:01 x named[23755]: error (unexpected RCODE REFUSED) resolving '[elided].ip6.arpa/PTR/IN': 2001:1970:0:18:14::1#53Mar 22 17:02:01 x named[23755]: error (connection refused) resolving '[elided].ip6.arpa/PTR/IN': 24.226.0.58#53Mar 22 17:02:01 x named[23755]: error (unexpected RCODE REFUSED) resolving '[elided].ip6.arpa/PTR/IN': 24.226.14.60#53 Cogeco support, once I was able to explain the issue, basically said they don't support ipv6 so screw off. Since ipv6 is working so well otherwise, this little issue seems a pity. Any Cogeco engineers lurking out there that could help with this?? :-)

[INTERNET] Cogeco and blocks

$

Has Cogeco implemented blocks, Deep Packet Inspection (DPI)? I have been using unotelly DNS blocking service with Cogeco on my devices for a couple of years, the last 2 with Amazon fire tv sticks. Beginning in mid-November, I've been unable to access foreign content on my aftv sticks. I've even tried a new DNS blocker, unblockr, but the result was the same. Unfortunately the DNS still shows up as a weird IPv6 after entering the DNS into advanced settings. So, ITV and BBC are not working as Amazon apps or as Kodi addons. I have already been into my Cogeco Arris modem/router and IPv6 was not enabled and it was disabled on wireless adapter. I can't change it at the router level, per Cogeco. And they don't allow bridging due to issues it causes with TiVo. External routers are a whole other issue, as Cogeco will not support any issues with service, blaming the router (been there, done that). Does anyone know if this is actually the case, or what would be the case? At my wits end with this. Any suggestions?

Has anyone else had their TM822G (possibly also TM722G) firmware downgraded recently? After the "update" it shows: "Firmware Build Time: Mon Jun 3 11:26:20 EDT 2013" The previous firmware's build time was August 2016.
