[TV] Watching tivo recording on devices borked again?

$

Has something been screwed up again? For the past couple of weeks I haven't been able to stream from my tivo to my ipad. Just starts the recording then says buffering and goes no further. No changes to my network infrastructure and I can access my plex server from the iPad no problems. Tivo's been reset, reset the software on the iPad to no avail. Can't watch recordings through the tivo online or on my Android based phone either. Wondering if it's just me or others have experienced but have given up on the remote streaming as bad joke. I like the Tivo but it's starting to peeve me big time. Not keen on some of the restrictions that impact the IPTV based systems because the recording and storage is done remotely and if the channel dosen't want viewers able to pause, skip, watch out of home etc then you're SOL because the provider has to block those features but that maybe the way I'll have to go.

Cogeco Coming to London?

All of a sudden last week commercials started appearing for Cogeco on CTV2 London. Does that mean they are expanding to this area? Otherwise not sure why they would bother placing commercials out of market?

[INTERNET] A fond farewell

The writing was on the wall last year, when Cogeco surprised me by offering an unprecendented level of discounts to keep me in the fold. I've been a Cogeco cable, internet and phone subscriber since the time they offered the service in Windsor. During that period, I have been mostly happy - and while some may call me a "fan boy", my posts have not all been over-the-top positive. I understand that companies are in business to earn a profit, and if they cannot maintain profitability, they will ultimately fail. I don't think I was ever unreasonable in my dealings with Loyalty/Retention, and I was always respectful. In addition, when customer service treated me right, I was quick to praise them in this forum. As I approached the end of my current 12-month promotion, I could see that the posted standard rates for various services were quite a bit higher than last year. And I was pretty certain that I would not be able to negotiate the same rate level as I've paid over the past 12 months. My negotiations with Loyalty were cordial and again, more productive than I expected they might be; but ultimately, to get the kind of discount I needed to remain a customer (I live on a limited fixed retirement income), not only would I have had to agree to a 2-year commitment, but I would also be losing TV channels that had been part of my previous plan (i.e. Starz channels were removed from the movie package). In the end, rather than trying to squeeze Cogeco for more concessions, I realized that TPIA pricing for the services I need were already within my range of affordability without any negotiation. I will miss Cogeco and the people I've come to know within their organization (both online and in-real-life) and wish them well in the future. But for me, the only way I can maintain my budget is to move on.

360 upgrade - no tech required (?)

I was at Cogeco's Hamilton storefront this afternoon. Asked the CSR about the cost of upgrading from 60 to 360. Got the price and was told a tech would come to our house to swap the modem. Fully expected that. I agreed to the price and asked the CSR what the time slots looked like. Much to the surprise of both of us, she said the 'system' is letting her submit this change immediately! No site visit required. She advised to give it 24 hours. If there's been no speed change, I'm to call in and the service reverted. Our modem is the ARRIS TM822G (it also supports our VOIP service). DOCSIS 3.0 Have any of you experienced the "No tech visit required" for this upgrade?

Hi all, My DPC3848VM won't reconnect after being offline since Tuesday. Have tried Factory reset Connecting to main line in house with without filter. Confirming signal entering home. Only wondering if the misset clock on the device is causing it not to pickup valid certs. Its current in 1969. But can't find a manual option to set it. Can't say and can't telnet into to see if there is cli options. Any thoughts?

[INTERNET] 1gbps drops to 150mbps after connecting Asus AC-68U router

Just switched to Cogeco from Bell to get 1gbps Internet speed. After over a month of struggling to get the outside hardware fixed, I finally started testing my Internet speeds. Incoming speed to the Modem around 950mbps. I am using Asus router AC-68U for wifi connections. After plugin in my router into the Arris modem the speed checked on the Modem side (hardware connection) drops to 150mbps. Talk to support but could not get any help. Any suggestions.

Bridging Docsis 3.1 & TIVO

Hi all, Currently using a Cisco Ac modem in bridge on a 120/10 plan. Although the router is in bridge - MOCA is still functional allowing my TIVO boxes to function as expected. Considering upgrading to 1Gig plan with the Arris docsis 3.1 hardware. My goal is to also place this in bridge as I have a pretty robust network of cat6 wired APs throughout my home and would prefer to handle routing myself. Has anyone had any luck bridging this device and still getting TIVO via MOCA to work without any issues? Thanks!

[INTERNET] Intermittent packet loss, happening for days in Belleville

This started happening a couple days ago, the Internet will be working fine, and then websites will stop loading, there would be significant packet loss (50-100%). This is on a wired connection, not WIfi. Other tenants in our building have been reporting the same issue on Cogeco. It's very intermittent, but sometimes the Internet will be stay down for hours throughout the day. When it works, there's no issues with speed or latency (9/10ms). I've tried the pin reset button on the cable modem, and it takes awhile for it to finally come back.. ends up restarting a bunch of times before coming online. But it doesn't necessarily fix it.. Does TiVo service require Cogeco Internet

$

We had Cogeco Internet and TiVo service. Our Arris modem is in bridged mode and we have the MoCa set up over Ethernet. (Our TiVo mini is only connected via Ethernet. We switched our internet to start.ca, and TiVo still working perfectly 2 weeks in. Without warning when we cancelled Internet with Cogeco, we just received 2 Non TiVo HD receivers from Cogeco with instructions to return the TiVos. Is there any technical reason for this, as the TiVo appear to work fine? Running coaxial cable for the second location isn’t an option and why would we pay the same to go from a 4K TiVo to a 1080p receiver? Additionally, they charged a $20 self install fee. Just curious if anyone else went through this.

I can't log into my account, says 'service unavailable' ... it's been like that for a couple days ... anyone else having problems? Also noticed that nobody from Cogeco seems to be responding to questions in the Cogeco direct forum .. have they completely abandoned DSL reports?

[INTERNET] Modem Choice

OK....so after a three month leave of absence I am back with Cogeco as of next Tuesday. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I tried a company that used Cogeco lines but it has been a headache. First they had routing issues now their pings are through the roof. The first issue they admitted to and eventually corrected by upgrading servers. But since they got new servers...the pings are not usable. Anyway. I have a question for all you Cogeco gurus. Apparently when they come out to hookup my 360/20 there are two modems they use. And they stated that I can choose one. A Cysco and an Arris. I am guessing that both have Puma 6 chipsets but I can't tell until I know what models Cogeco uses. And if they are both using Puma 6 chipsets, I am hoping that one is better than the other. Just prior to leaving Cogeco, I had upgraded to the 360/20 but the modem I had was causing brutal ping rates and lagging once every five minutes or so. So...does anyone know what the two different models are that Cogeco uses so that I can look them up. Can anyone state their experience so far with either models? Thanks

TIVOs and Bridging

$

Hi all, apoligies for starting another thread about this subject but none of the others seemed to be quite the same situation. I am tearing my hair out trying to get this working. I have the Arris modem in bridge mode, connected to a router and all my devices to a switch/wifi. The networking side everything is fine. The TIVOs are another story. Unfortunately I cannot run ethernet to any of the TIVO boxes and the main box and 2 minis are connected via coax. With Moca enabled the minis can connect to the main box to view cable TV and programs recorded on the main box ok but none of the boxes can access the internet. I tried adding a TIVO bridge device and splitting the coax at the main box to provide a coax and ethernet connection to the main TIVO box and putting that into Moca bridge mode, and encrypting the Moca traffic, but ...1 - it didn't get internet connection anyway, like the TIVI bridge couldn't see my router and 2 - it killed my LAN by creating some kind of loop whereby all my other devices were getting given IP addresses from outside. The Arris unit I have does not allow for Moca to be disabled, the check box is greyed out no matter what mode the box is in. Any suggestions? Many thanks!

How do you reset modem router default password? I tried so often to get into settings that it is now disabled. I don’t really want to deal with support if i don’t have to. Any suggestions welcome.

Hi, I see Cogeco has started over building in Aldershot, ON and I was wondering if anyone can give me a straight answer as to when it will be lit and available. There is a fibre tap infront of my property and my one neighbour has a drop but no ONT as of yet. I can PM my address if someone can lookup actual plant availability that would be awesome! Zach

All services down since at least 8:30pm in Windsor. Called after 9pm spoke with support who advised of an outage. Cogeco site still doesn't state the outage and no update for services down for almost 6 hours maybe longer I was out for a few hours and service down when I got home.

Constant TiVO issues since the last update -tech blames SamKnows box

I am a little disappointed in the techs that are being sent out to fix my cable service. Tech apparently put notes on my account blaming the constant freezing and disconnect of my TiVo boxes on the SamKnows Whitebox. He said that this SamKnows box is a router and is causing the TiVo mini's to disconnect which is completely false... makes no sense to me since these are networked via MoCA and communicate through MoCA via the router which is Cogeco's internet modem. I also told him that even if I had my own "Access Point", the Cogeco router is still functioning as the device that assigns IP's. He did not agree apparently as this is what I was told he put on my account now that I am still having issues. I should also mention, these issues only started when the boxes were upgraded to Hydra.
