Has anybody with TIVO from COGECO tried to upgrade to the Hydra interface by following the instructions on this site: https://zatznotfunny.com/2017-10/how-to-upgrade-to-tivo-hydra/
it seems its possible to request via the TIVO site... I haven't tried it...
Just wondering if anybody has tried it...
We have issues with the TIVO mini freezing all the time (when using netflix etc.). I had them swap the mini but it didnt solve the problem.
I notice the TIVO mini's are running an older version of the netflix app as compared to the main TIVO T6 unit....
Was just wondering if anybody has any other suggestions or has tried the TIVO Hydra interface even while on COGECO.
still no luck with out of home streaming - but it seems that is a widespread and known issue - not sure if it will ever get resolved...

[INTERNET] Docsis 3.1 1gbps ISP modem - not leasing internet IP
I have this Docsis 3.1 modem but it only seems to work with my current Asus GT-5300 router by way of giving it an IP for internet access. If I try to change this router to say (Orbi), it won't lease the Orbil an IP for internet access. The modem is in bridge mode but that's the way that I want to run it as it currently runs this way with the Asus router. Also, if I take it out of bridge mode and just try using the Docsis 3.1 modem as the router for DHCP (no WiFi), I still don't get internet access on my wired devices or access points. Does this modem maintain an association to only 1 router that needs to be changed (i.e. Mac Address of current router). I have TiVo and this modem in bridge mode. I have reset the Docsis to factory defaults but still only the Asus router will get an internet ip leased to it from the Docis.

[TV] PACE RN200G rebooting
Called Cogeco because the DVR feature disappeared in menu. They attempted to reset or send signal (firmware?) which was unsuccessful and basically put box into a reset/reboot loop. After which Cogeco said they couldn’t help me as they couldn’t even communicate with it anymore. Now it wont boot up and wont even work as a cable tuner.
Ive removed power obviously and removed the hard just in case but it still is stuck in reboot cycle
This was bought from them in 2015.
Any suggestions?

UltraFibre 1Gig available in Milton
Just passing this on in case anyone is interested. Today I phoned Cogeco to confirm that what the website was reporting (that my address now qualified for UltraFibre 1Gig) was true. Apparently they have upgraded the peer hubs to DOCSIS 3.1 and they are now offering the enhanced service. I don't know if it is all of Milton, but I am in the Derry Rd & James Snow Pkwy area. The service isn't symmetrical, it is 1Gig down and 30Mbps up. 1Gig up is only available in limited regions. This is OK for me, at least I will now have a better upload speed as 10Mbps was not enough for my needs. I spoke to a tech and the modem they are issuing with this service is the Arris TG3452 which can be placed in bridge mode. As part of this 1Gig service, Cogeco also installs (2) Wireless AC range extenders in your home, but I will be asking the tech not to bother as I intend to use my own equipment with the Arris in bridge mode. The current pricing is $119.00 / month for 1 year (Internet only, no TV or Phone), then it goes up to $149. Assuming all goes well, I will have to try making some calls to continue that promotion price. I also spoke to a few sub-carriers of Cogeco, TekSavvy, Start.ca, CarryTel and each of them told me the same thing - for now, DOCSIS 3.1 is only available from Cogeco directly, they aren't allowing the resellers to use it.

Brutal upload speeds after 5-6pm
Usually, throughout the day it's fine and I am at my regular speeds but at night when it matters (my job requires that ability to upload) my upload speed drops from 10 to .52 or lower which hinders me from uploading anything.
I called tech support and was told my service seemed fine and it was my router, except I tried plugging directly from the modem to my PC and the problem persists. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work.

[TV] Crave - Channels work, on demand doesn't?
I'm having issues with the new crave thing. I used TMN as well as Crave before they merged, and am trying to only use the package provided by Cogeco now, but I'm having massive issues with the content.
Basically, the live channels work fine, as do the movies on demand, but when it comes to the television shows, I keep getting an error. This happens on both the official Cogeco On Demand (299) as well as the Xbox One application. It works fine on the website version of Crave.
Anybody have any info on this? Is this only happening to me?

[INTERNET] Watered Down Gig Packages - What gives Cogeco?
https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/cogeco-connexion-enhances-its-gigabit-offering-in-ontario-markets-692173431.html
I was excited to see that Cogeco put out a press release that they had the capability to offer Gigabit services in Burlington. I checked out the website and the service is now listed as 1Gbit/s down and only 30Mbit/s up. What gives Cogeco? Previously the Gigabit service was advertised as 1Gig up and down. This new offer, for the same price, is really only an incremental upgrade from any other DSL/Cable package out there. With literally everything moving to the cloud having a faster upload speed is a must for most households. I work from home and my company does everything in the cloud so a 1Gig connection would have been amazing.
Hopefully someone from Cogeco reads this and can offer some information around the decision and if there will be a full 1Gig up/down package in the future.

Anyone else get T&C mailed to them?
Got this letter in the mail today along with the T&C and acceptable use policy. Anyone else get this?

Has Cogeco been compromised?
So what's started as a pretty benign issue, seems to have blossomed into some form of wide scale outage at Cogeco... I've been fighting with customer service for days to try and get a Tivo mini replaced (it's dead), and they couldn't roll a tech because "I had an open sales order" -- an appointment in a week to upgrade from the 120 service to the 360 (and save a few bucks).
Anyhow I went through a series of chats (I have the transcripts too once I started getting the run around), and then had to call in because even when trying to cancel the tech call -- they couldn't over chat. They gave me the wrong contact info to call, and I was transferred from department to department.
I land in tech support for Tivo and talk to a really cool guy who just told me "Dude, don't upgrade to 360 -- the modem is having so many problems, it's not working right".. I explained I was already trying to cancel that and get my Tivo replaced.. Transfer again.. Ends up "Your account is stuck, we are sending it to another team and it will be resolved tomorrow".
Anyways tonight I login to chat to check if they can finally send me a tech to replace a damn tivo mini (seriously, I don't need a tech, I just want to swap it at the store but they can't tell me if that will work or not -- and the store isn't close).
Chat says that their entire troubleshooting platform and service call platform has been down since 9pm last night, and 30,000 people are out of service currently. They can't give any kind of an ETA, nor can they discuss the details of what's going on.
So what gives? Has Cogeco been hacked? Is this a cryptoware outbreak or is this simply disaster recover/business continuity plans that are missing? How in the heck does a company like this disappear for 24 hours and counting without an ETA, nor anything to tell customers?
Hope I'm wrong, but this isn't passing the sniff test -- just "yeah go away, nothing working for over a day".
Anyone else heard anything? I'm usually pretty happy with the service from Cogeco, but this past few days has been absolute garbage/rude service, and now this. WTF is going on over there boys and girls?

Bridging DPC3848VM
I have read through the numerous posts on this topic, and appreciate all the information. I do though have a simple question. Is there any Cogeco user ID and password that will be required to connect to Cogeco from the router, or is the authentication done at the cogeco end using the modem’s MAC address?
Or to put it another way, if I put the modem into bridge mode, reboot, and plug in my router, the router will automatically DHCP from the modem and I can proceed to configure the router. Correct?
And my standalone TiVo (no minis) will continue to function? It seems like it should, as it doesn’t have a wifi connection as far as I know? I’m a bit fuzzy on this one as I haven’t waded through all the TiVo settings, but I didn’t see the install tech setting anything like that up.
Thanks in advance from a long time lurker.

[TV] No CityTV Now Cogeco option?
Hello,
I am trying to watch Hell's Kitchen on CityTV Now (need the subtitles) but they don't seem to offer a Cogeco option to log in. I am trying to watch it from here: https://www.citytv.com/toronto/shows/hells-kitchen/
It seems to have every other company as an option aside from Cogeco.
Google brought up a similar topic posted a few years back saying it was reinstated: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r30314141-No-City-Tv-on-demand although that is for on-demand service.
Was it removed? How could I use my Cogeco login to watch this?
Thank you.

[INTERNET] account disconnected without notice
I look after my elderly neighbor's computer that uses Cogeco internet. He has no technical computer knowledge.
About 3 weeks ago, he said his internet was not working. I went over and checked out that cables, router etc were all properly connected. Got down to realizing there was no signal from cable. Called Cogeco. First agent said account had been blocked and passed me to a higher level agent. He confirmed that account had been blocked "due to unusual activity" . He got us back online and we changed password. I noticed a large number of bounce-back emails. None of these had been sent from neighbor's computer. I deleted all of them. Then ran a Malwarebytes scan as well as Ccleaner including registry. Everything working again.
3 weeks later, neighbor calls again. This time, internet was working, but email rejected his log-in. last email showing was from 10 day ago. Outgoing email had worked it seems. I was able to log into his Myaccount and I reset both email and Myaccount passwords.
Tried to access his webmail - It would get as far as the java applet and look like it was loading, then just flipped back to the log-in screen. Unable to access webmail
Went back to email program (Windows Live Mail). Made sure server info was correct and applied new password. Still unable to log into email.
Called Cogeco. Had to explain several times what was happening. Nice young lady, but inexperienced, it seemed. She had me try a different browser with Myaccount/WEbmail. Same result. Was not able to help further and said she would escalate to higher level. We would hear back in 2 to 5 days! Unacceptable really, since I suspected that this was a Cogeco problem.
Decided to deactivate the IMAP account and started a new POP account using same log-in information. Success. All emails were downloaded and outgoing worked too. As before, there were a number of bounceback emails. IMAP still not working. I think I will leave him on POP.
My guess, is that in both cases Cogeco blocked the account due to the numerous bounceback emails in short time period. It appears these may be due to email spoofing. I think I will leave him on POP in hope that if emails download to his computer, maybe Cogeco won't cut him off again?
My complaint - Cogeco made no effort to advise their customer of the problem. Simply cut him off. He is an elderly gentleman with no technical knowledge. No use him calling support because he likely would not understand and would be asked to do a lot of useless tasks when all agent had to say, if they had been alerted, was that Cogeco had cut account off.
I am going away for 3 months and he is concerned that this might happen again. Wants to know who can help him???????
If anyone from Cogeco can help, I can go to Cogeco Direct with account information.

[INTERNET] Is your Webmail working?
My neighbor is still blocked from accessing his IMAP account. No communication or explanation from Cogeco.
He is also unable to connect to WEbmail. Sometimes when clicking on Webmail link, one of those pages comes up basically saying link is bad. Other times, the java progress bar appears briefly, then a popup appears (paperless billing?) then page goes back to webmail log-in page. No message. Never ending loop. I have tried this with 3 browsers and two computers with same result.

Upgrade to 360 Internet
The 360 Mbps is now available in my area, I'm thinking about upgrading. I see that it comes with up to 2 wifi access points.
Anyone know if Cogeco makes you have a service call to upgrade? I really don't relish the the thought of them mucking around with my network setup.

How are these modem stats?
I'm having some intermittent connection issues with my connection. Random short periods of packet loss. I'm on the 120/20 package with a DPC3008. Do these stats look ok? From what I've read about signal strengths the downstream is on the high side and the upstream on the low side. Plus it looks like one of the upstream channels isn't connecting. Should I get Cogeco onsite to look or would a simple modem swap at a store front fix the issue? I'm in St. Catharines
