After much digging, and no help from Cogeco (surprising since the fix is easy), I've solved my Airprint frustration. I would see the Airprint printer in the first few minutes of rebooting the printer, or toggling the wireless (even toggling either Bonjour, or IPP), but then it always goes away.
The problem is the printer is connected via wifi, and Arris does not handle Multicast properly for the Bonjour protocol (this is the protocol for Airprint) to work continuously. It's not the firewall as far as I can troubleshoot, as I tried turning it off to no avail.
The solution, connect the printer via Ethernet, problem solved. If your printer does not have Ethernet, then you're out of luck, unless you either add another access point for the printer that does properly support Multicast, or connect the printer to a computer, and of course the computer needs to run the Bonjour service (over Ethernet as well). My printer did not have Ethernet (HP OJ 6600) so I bought a new one on sale at Bestbuy (HP OJ 6968) and it worked out of the box, Airprint problem solved. Getting another access point may have been cheaper but more configuration required. I easily found a home for the 6600.
A simple but tedious work-around: Create a bookmark in Safari to the printers' networking page/IPP, and toggle the service (at least on the 6600). It must affect the Bonjour/Multicast code, and causes it to re-initiate which makes the Airprint available for the next few minutes for you to print.

[TV] TIVO One Pass Settings
Anyone else having issues where the setting for a One Pass specifies NEW ONLY, but older shows are getting recorded anyway? The recorded program listing does not show NEW in the description.
Has anyone found a fix?

[TV] NFL and Super Sports Package
Disappointing situation when the NFL Network broadcasts Thursday night games. Seems Cogeco gets it Super Sports Package from Rogers. They have the NFL broadcast rights for games that are broadcast on the NFL Network in the US and they put those games on SportsnetOne. NFL Canada is blacked out from those games and show other content.
Subscribing to SSP does not get you any games except Sunday Ticket. I also subscribe to the SportsNet family of channels but Cogeco greedily does not include SportsNetOne in that group as other Canadian TV providers do.
So despite the fact that I pay extra for both SSP and SportsNet I will be unable to watch Thursday Night Football if it is not on CBS, unless I subscribe to SN1HD and pay even MORE. What a racket!
At least I did learn that I only have to keep SSP for 6 months before I can cancel. So every year I can save 3 months when MLB or NFL are not playing. I could care less about NHL and NBA, any games I would care about would be on other channels. Just irks me that I pay so much for internet/TV package and they want even more for just a couple games a year.
This also taught me I can live without some of the excessive packages we purchase. I will be trimming my service package down quite a bit just on principal. All because they want a buck or two (maybe 3, I didn't even ask) more for one channel that I would never watch except for one or 2 NFL games a year. I'm rethinking whether switching from Shaw was really such a great idea. I am getting better internet than Bell and overall better TV with Tivo but paying a hell of a lot for it as well. I could go to start.ca for just as fast internet and Back to Shaw for TV, I still have the dish and receivers. Hmmmmm

[TV] Super Sports Pak NHL
I live in eastern Ontario. Within the Senators region. Leafs regional games on TSN4 or Sportsnet Ontario should be available in my region on Super Sports Pak. However, the games are all blacked out. I have had the pleasure of speaking to the folks at Cogeco tech support and they report the following:. They state that the SSP signals come from Rogers, and they can't control the feeds. As I am located within the Sens region, all Leafs games should be available to me on Channel 493. They appear in the guide but are blacked out. Does anyone else have this problem? I would like to know how widespread of an issue this is.

[INTERNET] Modem keeps flashing
We have had a Cisco DPC3008 for a few months now. It is on a shelf in our TV room. It's not a huge problem, but a bit distracting - the orange light flashes continuously, even when we are not using the internet. Never stops.
Is this normal?
According to test, Speed seems OK, but for our 15MB/s service is the C grade normal?

[INTERNET] Cogeco Blaming Dlink for DDOS?
So my girlfriend and I have been with cogeco for years and have a Dlink router whole time, but past month our ultra60 package has been having issues. It started when their system did not recognize out modem during database upgrades, so they sent a tech out to replace it (3-4 weeks ago). (2-3) weeks ago it did the same thing with a new modem. We called in and they fixed it, blaming it on our Dlink router. they claim that DLINKs have a setting that make the modems targets for DDOS attacks, so they disconnected our service remotely as why we had modem errors the 2nd time.
The fun part is, they have been throttling our service for weeks now. Doing speed tests our service peaks at 6.28 Mb/s now. We have called in 3x and each time they ask if we have a dlink and we say yes and the tech person says o thats why nothing can be done, Its a issue with Dlinks too. So here i am DIRECTLY plugged into the modem, No router or anything and The results are the same. (11/10/2016 -- Up 6.28 Mb/s - Down 2.08 Mbs - Ping20ms - Location Barrie, ON)
Anyone else getting similar issues where their blaming anything wrong with their services all on dlink even its not hooked up?

Digital Cable Box Activation
If I buy a digital box from someone, as long as it's one of the same models Cogeco uses, and it doesn't have anything attached to its serial number (i.e. stolen equipment), am I able to activate and use it? Also does it matter if the box wasn't on Cogeco before, but was on Shaw? Thanks.

Yet Another Price Increase
Just bothered to go through my pile of non-urgent mail and finally opened the letter from Cogeco. Oh, look, it's another price increase beginning December 1, 2016. We had one in February of this year. Two price increases in one year? How many has that been over the past five years?
As far as I can tell, my monthly costs will be increasing by $10 total. That is outrageous. What bothers me the most is that the cost of services in a bundle are increasing the most. Have UltraFibre 60 without a bundle? Your price is going up $3. Same service in a bundle? It's a $5 increase. What the? That's on top of the $3 increase in February.
I'll be cancelling Home Phone and TV by the end of next week. What's the point of bundling when you get charged the biggest increases. So much for those skinny Cable TV packages lowering prices. Sigh.

I have one Cogeco activated T6 tivo unit and I was recently given an older Roamio2 unit that I want to attach to my tv in the basement.Is there any wAY TO CONNECT THESE BOTH THROUGH EITHER A HOME NETWORK OR THROUGH THE aRRIS MODEM THAT cOGECO USED TO TRANSFER SHOWS FROM MY cOGECO UNIT TO THE Roamio2 unit .Is activating the second one neccesary or can this be done by me? How to obtain a few extra channels?
Hi,I currently subscribe to the HD digital value pack (56.99), (two hd pace receivers ,rental 14.00)pretty satisfied with sports content with a few exceptions,the friggen blacked out games on Sportsnet channels,how can I remove the blackouts? and can I add sportsnet1 ?? (SN1HD),not available,and AMC (hooked on Walking Dead). Also it seems since the guide has changed colour to black it seems the receiver(s) are slower to react,sometimes locking up. Anyone else? I've unplugged the power to them and reset,seems to help,but on both receivers channels will seem to freeze at some point,usually when I fall asleep in the mancave or living room,lol. Turning them off and back onwill resolve problem but is this normal?? Anyone else experience this? Thanks.

Speed has dropped since end of October
We recently moved and I just looked at my Sam Knows reportcard, and it's not looking good this month. We've been consistant with 43MB, since the end of October my average download speed has been 27.74. I've checked all of the connections and everything is good. We have an Arris Wireless modem (not paying for it, this was apparently the only modems they had in stock at the time, wish I could have kept the other MTU modem.) I spoke to a 1st level rep that told me it was my 3rd party router because it was as he put it "hooked up wirelessly" so that would slow things town. I was able to "argue" with him enough and stood my ground that he passed me to a supervisor who was more than helpful. I connected directly into the modem with my laptop and still got 13MB download, he had me do a pin reset, and even after the pin reset the highest speed I was able to get was only 20. They are sending a tech out but according to the supervisor he said he didn't see anything on my node that would indicate any issues.. We moved on October 15th and as you can see everything was good until the end of October.. Heres my 1 month and 6 month report cards from Sam Knows as well as my modem status, I just noticed it now appears my modem is in the future as the date is off.. I will let everyone know what the tech says, I'm hoping that he will switch out this wireless modem because it just give me the willies, wish I could have kept the other one. Fingers crossed for me. On a side note, I called Cogeco today and actually was told I "Qualify for customer discounts", so I was passed to the Loyality department and was put on a promotional package for 6 months which has saved me a decent amount of money., so I give a thumbs up for that.

[TV] Advice wanted
I have an antique grandfathered Analog value pack with Cogeco. It comes with 2 free DTA's. Problem is the channels included don't suit me (esp. only getting TSN4!). I can get their pick 10 for a little less including 1 rental of a digital box. I only watch 9 picks worth now. No brainer? Or would I be losing something with this ancient value pack that I've overlooked? (Other than going from 2 boxes to 1)

When it says "Free with subscription" I assumed that means if you picked the associated channel. What however about channels which have a free preview? Does that mean the on demand's associated with that channel are also free for the duration?

Won't lie, I may well have received snail mail from Cogeco and have just forgotten about it. However noticed on our latest bill that our price for TV has increased. We're on MyMix10 and it's gone up by $3/mo. That's a pretty big hike, how long is this going to go on?

W Movies shutting down. Replacement channel?
Does anyone know if the grandfathered in Digital Select subscribers will have the option to choose a replacement channel for W Movies, which shuts down on Dec 12th.
The notice mentions that "My Mix, Pick package or standalone channel" subscribers will have this option.
The notice also says that you can choose this channel with the Channel Selector Tool in MyAccount, but I don't see this tool.
