I was a Cogeco customer for 20 years. I recently decided to change to one of their resellers, V-Media.
The service is working fine......BUT, not long after switching, my lawn maintenance guys said they wanted to aerate my front yard.
This made me think....about two things: 1. I remember back about 5 years ago, I unearthed my Cogeco cable in the front yard simply by raking my grass clippings; THAT's how shallow it was in the ground.
2. Now that I'm no longer a "direct" customer of Cogeco...who's responsible for any physical (as opposed to signal) cable problems I may have?
If the lawn guys cut or even just puncture/injure the cable, who's responsible and who will fix it?
Further, a more general question (which would apply to ALL providers) how deep in the ground should that cable BE?
Cogeco's Cable contractor who came out (5 years ago) to look at the cable after I accidentally pulled it out of the ground said "they" would come out and re-bury it...complete with a new conduit-style sheath.
It never happened.
Now what?
